£10m claim emerges as West Ham United shortlist Julen Lopetegui and Ruben Amorim

West Ham are in advanced talks with Julen Lopetegui and Ruben Amorim with a clear favourite in advanced talks, according to the Sun.

The newspaper reported via its website on 3 May that while Lopetegui is the favourite, as things stand, Amorim is also being considered.

The club will need to pay £10million to get Amorim out of Sporting CP but this is viewed by many as a rare opportunity to hire an “elite” manager.

West Ham in complex managerial conundrum

The Hammers find themselves in a complex situation as they consider Lopetegui and Amorim for their managerial position.

Lopetegui, the frontrunner, is readily available but has faced criticism for his recent job performances.

Conversely, Amorim, while highly sought after, appeared to be leveraging the club’s interest to potentially secure a move to a more prestigious club like Liverpool.

The situation presents a conundrum for the Irons, as they must weigh the pros and cons of each candidate.

Lopetegui’s availability makes him an attractive option, but his recent track record raises concerns about his ability to improve the team’s performance.

On the other hand, Amorim’s impressive work at Sporting CP has made him a coveted manager, but there are signs he may not be fully committed to the club.

West Ham must carefully consider their priorities and long-term goals when choosing between these two candidates.

They must decide whether to take a chance on Lopetegui, hoping he can revitalize his managerial career, or pursue Amorim, potentially risking becoming a stepping stone for the Portuguese manager.
