West Ham vs Brentford preview: Team news, expected lineups, score prediction

West Ham will look for just their second win of the season when they take on Brentford on Monday night.

Nuno Espirito Santo was hired by West Ham at the end of September, and the Portuguese manager is yet to taste victory with the Hammers.

Fixtures away to Everton and Arsenal made for a difficult start for the former Tottenham boss, but Monday will see the London Stadium welcome their new man.

Brentford are narrow favourites against West Ham, although the Bees have not enjoyed the strongest of starts themselves.

Andy Madley has been appointed as the referee for Brentford’s trip to West Ham, but Nuno will hope to keep the action out of the hands of the officials.

Team news

Aaron Wan-Bissaka made his return as West Ham lost 2-0 to Arsenal before the international break, and the defender is expected to take part on Monday.

Tomas Soucek will also return to action after completing the three-match suspension he received for his red card against Tottenham, and Jean-Clair Todibo could be back.

However, West Ham will likely be without Niclas Fullkrug, after the striker suffered a muscle injury while with Germany.

Brentford are without Gustavo Gomes, and could also be missing Aaron Hickey and Antoni Milambo after the pair appeared to suffer injuries while on international duty.

Predicted lineups

West Ham: Areola; Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Kilman, Diouf; Fernandes, Magassa; Bowen, Paqueta, Summerville; Wilson

Brentford: Kelleher; Kayode, Ajer, Van den Berg, Collins, Lewis-Potter; Yarmoliuk, Henderson, Damsgaard; Thiago, Schade

And if the West Ham players need anything, perhaps it is exactly that from their fans. Brentford are strong, but possess several weaknesses that the Hammers can exploit.

Fullkrug will be missed, but when Jarrod Bowen is leading your attack, nothing can be ruled out. West Ham to win at the London Stadium for the first time this season.
