West Ham United v Everton – ‘Terrible’ footage leaves BBC pundit fuming
Don Hutchison was fuming as footage emerged from the West Ham v Everton game on Saturday, which ended 0-0.
Speaking on Premier League Productions’ Weekend Wrap, the BBC pundit admitted that while the highlights showed the Hammers played well, in all honesty, they did not.
Julen Lopetegui went into the game under pressure and was booed off the pitch on 9 November as his side failed to pick up the three points.
Hutchison said on 10 November at 9:53 pm: “It was terrible. These highlights show West Ham playing well but they didn’t. It was poor. In all honesty, clutching at straws.”
West Ham must consider sacking Julen Lopetegui
The frustration of the fans is palpable, especially after the club’s significant financial outlay in the summer transfer window, which was supposed to herald a new era of dynamic and exciting football under Lopetegui.
Despite signing a number of exciting players, the team’s performances have not reflected this investment.
The football has been lacklustre, defensively frail and lacking in creativity or flair.
This poor showing, exemplified by the recent goalless draw against Everton, where the team was booed off the pitch, indicates a disconnect between the expectations set by the new signings and the reality on the pitch.
With Lopetegui’s philosophy seemingly not translating into results or an engaging style, the fans’ patience is wearing thin, sparking legitimate discussions about the manager’s future.

It is imperative that the hierarchy have talks over sacking him during the international break.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to sell an international player in January and have already identified a replacement for him.
