West Ham United v Aston Villa: Mohammed Kudus slammed by talkSPORT pundit

Courtney Sweetman-Kirk has slammed Mohammed Kudus for what he did in the first half for West Ham v Aston Villa on 17 March.

In the 29th minute of the clash at the London Stadium, Kudus found himself in an offside position and despite having enough time to come onside, he failed to do so and was then flagged by the linesman.

The Hammers were building a positive attack which was then stopped by the Ghanaian.

Sweetman-Kirk, a talkSPORT pundit told the Premier League world feed (17 March, 14:30): “Kudus finds himself offside. Cardinal sin there for a winger. When you can see across the line. What is he doing.”

Kudus makes a rare blunder for West Ham

Despite Kudus’ incredible season, this was disappointing and not acceptable for a player of his calibre.

With 17 goals and four assists this season in all competitions, Kudus has undoubtedly been a key player for the Hammers.

This kind of mistake, especially for a winger who should be adept at timing runs, is considered a cardinal sin in football.

While every player is prone to occasional errors, the Ghana international, given his stellar record this season, is expected to maintain a higher level of focus and discipline on the field.

This incident serves as a reminder that even the best players must remain vigilant and disciplined at all times.

The Hammers go into the break with a lead and that’s the most important thing but they’ve got to hold on to it in the second half.

Hopefully, they manage to play as well and take the game to Unai Emery’s side right until the end.
