West Ham United: England players rage after what ‘very lucky’ Lucas Paqueta did for Brazil
West Ham United ace Lucas Paqueta was “very lucky” not to be sent off for Brazil in their clash against England.
That is according to Sky Sports News’ Rob Dorsett, who made the comment following a first-half foul from Paqueta on Saturday (23 March).
The tackle on Jude Bellingham came shortly after the midfielder was shown a yellow card for a cynical foul in the friendly match, which ended 1-0 to the visitors thanks to Endrick’s goal.
“Paqueta is very lucky not to see red there!” said Dorsett, as per Sky Sports. “Already on a yellow, it’s a cynical hack that brings down Bellingham.
“If this wasn’t a friendly, maybe he would have been given his marching orders. England aren’t happy about it though.”
Were England players right to be angry at West Ham star Lucas Paqueta?
Paqueta was a menace against England, in every sense of the word, with the Brazil ace also hitting the post in a busy opening 45 minutes.
The midfielder certainly made the contest an exciting one, with such friendlies often failing to live up to expectation.
Both sets of fans do, of course, know the player well, with Paqueta enjoying another superb season at the London Stadium.
Hammers manager David Moyes really missed the Brazil star earlier this year when he was ruled out with injury, but the midfield ace has returned to the pitch, with his club’s good form unsurprisingly returning at the same time.
But along with his creative side, the player’s somewhat darker side came out at Wembley, with Paqueta involved in several fouls on various England players.

The home side grew frustrated with the lack of action taken towards the Brazil star, who was perhaps saved from a red given how it was only a friendly encounter.
In other West Ham news, Howard Webb and Michael Owen were in agreement over a “complicated” controversy in the recent clash with Aston Villa.
