West Ham United confirm starting XI in UEFA Europa Conference League clash v Anderlecht
West Ham United have confirmed their starting XI for Thursday evening’s European clash at the London Stadium against Anderlecht.
The pressure is off the Hammers, they’ve won all three of their opening UEFA Europa Conference League games and are sitting pretty at the top of Group B.
Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, the Hammers have named a very different side to the one that starred in their Sunday afternoon win over Fulham with Michail Antonio out completely.
Light work.
The Hammers should make light work of Anderlecht, as they proved they are levels above in last Thursday’s game away to the Belgian club.
It’s good to see a host of first-team regulars starting the match, hopefully, West Ham United doesn’t get any unnecessary injuries to top talents this evening.
David Moyes’s team finally looks to be gelling together and the blockbuster summer signings are starting to show glimpses of their worth.
Things are looking a lot less dreary than a couple of weeks back and Moyes’s job seems to be safe, for now at least.
The UEFA Conference League may be the Hammers best shot at silverware this campaign too, with domestic competitions dominated by Premier League juggernauts.
A good European run is always nice and it brings the supporters of the team even closer to the club when the run-in gets tough.
This was demonstrated perfectly in the team’s UEFA Europa League journey last season, let’s hope the Hammers can make a similar run in the Conference League this campaign.
