West Ham United ace Lucas Paqueta wows Sky Sports journalist after ‘classy’ moment v Sheffield United

Lucas Paqueta produced a “classy” moment as West Ham United defeated Sheffield United at the London Stadium.

Goals from Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek secured a 2-0 Premier League win for the Hammers on Saturday (30 September).

Aside from the goals, Brazilian ace Paqueta impressed Sky Sports journalist Nick Wright with a piece of skill early in the second half.

“A ripple of applause from the home fans as Paqueta lifts the ball over the head of a Sheffield United player in midfield then strokes a pass out to the right-hand side,” said Wright, as quoted by Sky Sports. “Classy.”

Star man

Paqueta has perhaps unsurprisingly been one of the standouts for West Ham this season, with the Brazilian ace impressing once again against Sheffield United.

He has performed admirably in both an attacking and a defensive role for the club, not just this time around but also in the final stages of last season.

It definitely took the Brazil international some time to adapt to life in East London following his arrival at the club, but he now looks to be a hugely talented player that is finally enjoying himself in claret and blue.

He did, of course, look like potentially leaving the London Stadium in the recent summer transfer window, with Premier League giants Manchester City seemingly showing an interest in his services.

But much to the delight of Hammers supporters and David Moyes, the attacker has remained in East London, and should be one of the key players for the club in all competitions in the coming months.

In other West Ham news, a Premier League journalist has slammed Moyes and has mooted a “worrying pattern” for the club.
