West Ham confirmed starting XI for Premier League clash v Brighton
West Ham have confirmed their starting XI for their clash against Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday 26 August, as they look to build upon an impressive win against Chelsea last time out.
Angelo Ogbonna makes his first start of the season alongside Kurt Zouma, with Edson Alvarez also replacing Said Benrahma with a more defensive side named.
Moyes will have to do without key defender Nayef Aguerd after he was sent off against Chelsea, while new signing Konstantinos Mavropanos also misses out due to “a couple of injuries”.
Pick up where they left off
West Ham will be looking to push on from their 3-1 victory against Chelsea, as they face a difficult trip to high-flying Brighton. The Seagulls scored eight goals in their opening two games against Luton and Wolves and will be looking to keep their goalscoring form up today.
James Ward-Prowse will be a key factor for the Hammers, just as he was against Chelsea, with his set-piece delivery able to cause troubles for any team, and often making the difference if the side are struggling for chances.
With the absence of Aguerd, Moyes’ job has become even harder. On top of Brighton’s good form lately, they are unbeaten in their last 12 games against West Ham. They have also won two penalties in their last three games against the Hammers, so that could be something to look out for.

West Ham will be hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the season, while acknowledging as most teams do that a trip to Brighton will not just be a relaxing day by the seaside.
In other West Ham news, Dharmesh Sheth has confirmed the status of Mohammed Kudus ahead of his medical.
