Wan-Bissaka wows at Old Trafford as 3/10 embarrassing – West Ham ratings vs Man United
West Ham remain in the Premier League relegation zone despite a positive draw against Manchester United on Thursday.
West Ham drew 1-1 at Old Trafford on 4 December, with Diogo Dalot the unlikely opening goalscorer with a close-range finish in the second half.
Nuno Espirito Santo had his hands tied with his team selection, with several West Ham academy products forced on the bench.
Despite that, Soungoutou Magassa scored his first Irons goal to rescue a point, tapping home after a clearance on the line from a corner.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka dominates
Going back to his former side, Wan-Bissaka was clearly determined to put on his best.
The DR Congo international was rarely beaten, with his signature slide tackle to scoop around the ball coming out several times, as well as a goal-line clearance from Joshua Zirkzee.
Zirkzee is wanted by West Ham and could be Wan-Bissaka’s teammate soon, and he will be glad to have him on his side, rather than against him, after tonight.
The only blemish was a late yellow card for a foul on Mason Mount, and possibly being lucky to avoid a second booking for a tackle on Patrick Dorgu.
El Hadji Malick Diouf embarrassed at Old Trafford
Diouf has been one of West Ham’s best signings of the year, but it was an evening to forget in Manchester.
The left wing-back is better in a five, but was placed in a back four, and he was skinned regularly by Amad Diallo, who was playing out wide.
With Ollie Scarles still injured and AFCON approaching quickly, Diouf will need to do much more over the next couple of weeks to help escape this relegation battle.
If Wan-Bissaka shone, his opposite number did anything but.
