Star man Bowen scores 9/10 - West Ham player ratings vs Norwich

Jarrod Bowen was the star man as West Ham saw off Norwich 2-0 in the Premier League at the London Stadium.

The ex-Hull City man scored both goals, had another ruled out by VAR for an offside and hit both the bar and the post in an all-action display that will have delighted David Moyes.

Bowen followed up his goal against Leeds United in the FA Cup by being at the centre of all the action on a night that saw the Irons climb back into the top four.

Lukasz Fabianski – 7

Barely involved for most of the game as Norwich offered little going forward. Still had to be sharp to crucially tip an Adam Idah shot onto the post mid-way through the second half with the score at 1-0.

Aaron Cresswell – 6

Having come back from injury the left-back’s radar was slightly off early on and looked a big leggy after half time but he grew into the game later on and played some nice balls as he began to look himself.

Issa Diop – 6

Looked slightly uncomfortable in the first half when faced with Idah but as Norwich’s challenge reduced he was challenged less and looked comfortable.

Craig Dawson – 6

Appeared in the Norwich box frequently in the opening half and otherwise clattered around the pitch looking awkward but getting the job done. Got a good foot in to halt Brandon Williams in final 20 minutes.

Vladimir Coufal – 8

Lacking many defensive duties with the Hammers in such control he was advanced from the off and put in a number of decent balls while supporting attacks. Assisted Bowen’s opener with one of them for his 10th league assist since his debut.

Declan Rice – 6

In a game where his side was in the ascendancy throughout, West Ham’s star man did not need to be near his influential best. An assured display all the same.

Pablo Fornals – 7

Did not feature noticeably before half time but played well later on, particularly in playing some wonderful attacking balls in for Bowen.

Nikola Vlasic – 6

Looked lively at the very start but then subsided into a solid but unspectacular display. Clashed with Krul at a corner in the first half. Was offside and interfering so Bowen strike was ruled out. Subbed for Masuaku late on.

Manuel Lanzini – 4

Should have scored twice in the first half but uncharacteristically blasted over on both occasions. May have been shaken up by a collision with his own man when he got a painful knee from Coufal.

Jarrod Bowen – 9

Close to a perfect display and a hat-trick were it not for clipping the second-half shot off the bar. Everything else of note happened around the English attacker with both goals, and another ruled out and also hit the bar.

Michail Antonio – 6

So often the key man up top at the Olympic Stadium the Jamaican forward did not have to be tonight thanks to Bowen’s exploits. Was kept quiet in the first half and should have scored in the second following a lovely turn on Grant Hanley but fired over. Went off late for Yarmolenko.

Arthur Masuaku – 5

Assisted Bowen’s second although by delaying the ball it was almost ruled out for offside and should have done better with another crossing opportunity.

Andriy Yarmolenko – 5

One stinging shot in the short time he was on the field.
