Sky Sports pundit: David Moyes 'absolutely furious' with Lukasz Fabianski as West Ham lose at Manchester City
David Moyes was angry with Lukasz Fabianski during the first half of Sunday’s Premier League clash between West Ham and Manchester City.
That’s according to ex-England defender and Sky Sports pundit Stephen Warnock, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live during Irons’ 2-1 loss at the Etihad Stadium, as shared on the BBC Sport live feed,
He said: “David Moyes was out of his technical area and he was absolutely furious at Lukasz Fabianski, because that’s another kick that he doesn’t get contact on, it ricocheted into the path of Riyad Mahrez and it was a clinical finish. West Ham are lucky.”
Opening up for Areola?
Fabianski has been the undisputed number one goalkeeper under Moyes this season, starting all 13 Premier League games during the 2021/22 campaign so far.
Summer loan signing Alphonse Areola has been restricted to outings in the Europa League and League Cup, despite his status as a World Cup winner with France.

However, could Moyes be tempted to switch things up soon?
Areola is evidently better with the ball at his feet, and that may be a trait that becomes even more valuable for the Irons in the future.
Besides, Fabianski turns 37-years-old before the conclusion of the current campaign, and he is drawing closer to the finish line.
That’s not to say he should be discarded by Moyes, but at this rate, Areola could be pushing for a starting spot.
In other West Ham news, the Irons held talks with the agents of this striker on Friday and £12.7million could seal the deal in January.
