Sky Sports journalist furious with Wolves vs West Ham scenes – ‘Absolutely horrific’
West Ham weren’t easy on the eye in their Carabao Cup defeat to Wolves on Tuesday.
West Ham travelled to face Wolves on 26 August in the hope of securing their first win of the season, after back-to-back Premier League defeats.
Despite taking the lead after 63 minutes through Lucas Paqueta, after links to Aston Villa, a quickfire double from substitute Jorgen Strand Larsen secured a 3-2 win for the hosts.
This has seen further pressure pile on Graham Potter, especially as the selection of Guido Rodriguez despite links of a West Ham exit to Espanyol.
The result hasn’t been helped by the scenes away from the London Stadium that left those watching fuming throughout the clash.
West Ham and Wolves cause fury in Carabao Cup
There is no getting away from how poor the opening to the campaign has been, with the West Ham defeat against Chelsea being as humiliating as the Sunderland loss the week before.
A supercomputer predicted Wolves to beat West Ham, which was ultimately spot on, side, with the performance only slightly better than those batterings.
As frustrating as that will be for the Irons, Wolves haven’t come away from their first win of the season with any true plus points to take away either.
This comes as both sides failed to show any sort of quality for the majority of the clash in the Midlands, with fans left aghast for the most part.

The annoyance of supporters has been echoed by Sky Sports journalist James Green, who hasn’t been shy in his disdain for the showing at Molineux.
Speaking on Sky Sports News (26 August, 07:55pm), he said: “There shouldn’t be any eyes on this one, quite frankly. It has been absolutely horrific.
“The pace this game is being played at, it’s like the first pre-season game, not even one that’s really close to the season. It’s slow, there’s no quality, no chances and nothing to shout about.”
Graham Potter doing himself no favours at West Ham
There is just so little positivity to speak of when it comes to the Irons, given how frustrating the line-up continues to be in claret and blue.
Constantly trying to utilise this three-back formation is causing issues and ultimately leaves the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta isolated regularly.
It is certainly worth a change in approach from Potter, especially while his future remains seemingly safe despite such a poor start to the campaign.
It will be interesting to see how this could improve his fortunes, or whether the ex-Brighton man is going to remain stubborn in his ways.
