Sky Sports coverage halted by hysterical Boyd after what he saw in West Ham draw

West Ham United played out an entertaining draw with Bournemouth on Saturday that had a number of talking points.

Evanilson scored twice, either side of goals from Niclas Fullkrug and Jarrod Bowen, as West Ham dug deep to earn a point against Bournemouth on home soil.

Mohammed Kudus claimed the assist for Bowen’s goal, but it was not all smiles for the Ghana international on 5 April.

Indeed, a moment involving Kudus during the first half left Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd in fits of laughter live on air.

Kudus in embarrassing moment v Bournemouth

Kudus got a cross badly wrong late on in the first half and Boyd was unable to contain himself in the Sky studio.

As host Simon Thomas teed up reporter Abigail Davies to share an update on the Swansea City versus Derby County game, Boyd’s loud laughter could be heard clearly.

Thomas instead cut to pundit Boyd, who apologised to Abigail for holding up the coverage.

Asked to explain why he found the incident so funny, Boyd replied (5 April, 3:46pm): “It’s hard to explain. You need to see it [continues to laugh hysterically].

“He goes down the right-hand side, away from [Milos] Kerkez. Just when he’s about to cross it with his right boot, it hits his left and shoots away. It’s one of those you don’t want to see again.”

Boyd then told Thomas he could go over to Abigail as planned as he regained his composure.

West Ham winless run continues

West Ham are now winless in four matches, having also drawn against Everton and lost to Newcastle United and Wolves during that run.

Potter inherited a bit of a disjointed side, albeit a talented one, and he will be aware that more is required.

There are certainly some positives on the back of the dire Julen Lopetegui era, but they are few and far between.

West Ham are winless in their last four in the Premier League

West Ham are essentially just playing out the campaign with little to play for, with relegation out of the question.

Potter will be pleased enough with a point against a good Bournemouth side, but a far tougher test now awaits against runaway leaders Liverpool next weekend.

If the winless run extends to a fifth game, as many will no doubt expect it to, then Potter will have a few questions to answer as to why the progress has been so slow at the London Stadium.
