Roy Keane destroys West Ham ‘disgrace’ in new David Moyes verdict amid Arsenal defeat
West Ham United have been slammed by Roy Keane for their first-half display against Arsenal, with the Sky pundit suggesting David Moyes would have been “fuming” with the disgraceful performance.
The Hammers were terrible against the Gunners on Sunday (11 February) as Mikel Arteta’s side ran out 6-0 winners to extend the Irons’ winless run in all competitions to seven matches.
Most of the damage was done in the space of 15 minutes at the end of the first half in a period of play that left Keane in a state of disbelief as he destroyed the Hammers’ defence labelling their display a “disgrace”.
Speaking on Sky Sports Main Event on Sunday (11 February, 15:00) he said: “I can’t believe what I’m watching. The way that they’re getting beat, physically, set-pieces, West Ham the last 10 or 15 minutes have been an absolute disgrace.
“They’ve not turned up. The first half an hour was a bit cagey obviously and Arsenal were getting on top, but it’s the type of goals they’re giving away. They’re not being physical, they’re not tackling. Odegaard, nobody has laid a glove on him.
“There are ways to lose a game of football, but the way that West Ham are doing it, they look old, they look sluggish in midfield. No desire, no hunger. David Moyes must be fuming at half-time. All credit to Arsenal they have turned up, they’ve flexed their muscles. They look sharp they look at it.
“West Ham, a disgrace.”
West Ham a ‘disgrace’ under David Moyes
Keane’s assessment of the Hammers’ opening 45 minutes couldn’t have been more apt. West Ham were so far off the pace in all aspects of the game as they were picked apart by Arteta’s side with relative ease.
All four of the goals in the first half were relatively simple and wouldn’t have looked out of place on a Sunday league pitch, but for whatever reason, the Hammers didn’t have any answers for the Gunners’ threat.

With Moyes’ contract up at the end of the season and speculation rife around his future, it’s hard to see how the Hammers’ board can give the Scotsman a new deal given the recent run of form.
Keane may be correct to suggest Moyes will be furious, but some of the blame has to fall on his head as well for this pathetic display.
