Roy Keane calls out Manchester United fans after what they did vs West Ham – ‘Silly’

Roy Keane was far from impressed with the Manchester United crowd against West Ham on Thursday evening.

West Ham battled to a deserved point in a 1-1 draw, with Nuno Espirito Santo getting plenty of fight out of his away side at Old Trafford.

After Diogo Dalot opened the scoring in the second half, Soungoutou Magassa hit back late on after a scramble from a corner, leading to wild celebrations in the away end.

Despite dropping yet more points, the Manchester United crowd gave their players a standing ovation.

Roy Keane cannot believe what Old Trafford has become

Keane was far from happy at full-time, but let his emotions get the better of him as West Ham could easily have stolen all three points.

Speaking live on Sky Sports Main Event on 4 December, the ex-Man United midfielder could not believe what he was seeing from the stands.

“United just take their foot off the gas,” Keane said.

“They made some substitutions, the subs were going off, everyone at Old Trafford gets a standing ovation, that’s a bit silly.

“They were only 1-0 up, take nothing away from West Ham, stay in the fight and just about deserved the equaliser.”

Where are West Ham in the Premier League?

West Ham remain in the Premier League relegation zone, but this point is massively important.

After Leeds beat Chelsea 3-1 on Chelsea on Wednesday, they went three points ahead of the Hammers, but this draw cuts that gap to two already.

Nobody expected West Ham to get anything at Old Trafford, so this will be a huge confidence boost, especially with Lucas Paqueta out suspended for it.

Crysencio Summerville was also out injured, so having little flair in the team makes the performance and result even better for Nuno and his backroom staff.

West Ham are 18th, ahead of a tough run-up to Christmas.

Games against Brighton, Aston Villa and Manchester City are next, so any more points will be a bonus for the Irons, who need to show this battle every single week now.
