Potter sack: West Ham United ‘to pass judgment’ after Southampton draw
Graham Potter may be under pressure at West Ham United after drawing 1-1 against Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Simon Rusk’s team visited the London Stadium on 19 April and snatched a point in the dying seconds of the game after Lesley Ugochukwu scored the equaliser.
The Hammers were poor in the opening 45 minutes but came into their own in the second half, scoring right after the break.
Bowen’s goal handed Potter a sigh of relief, but the former Chelsea boss will be frustrated that the Irons weren’t able to score more, and now doubts may arise over his future.

West Ham minds to change as Potter fails to win v Southampton
Adrian Durham believes some of the London Stadium faithful would change their minds if Potter failed to win against Southampton.
The talkSPORT journalist suggested during the East London outfit’s draw that there could potentially be noise around the English manager’s future if Southampton took points away from them, which happened.
Competition | Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses |
Premier League | 13 | 3 | 4 | 6 |
Durham feels it’s not too early to talk about the former Chelsea boss being sacked, as judgment at the Irons is usually passed quickly.
Speaking on talkSPORT (19 April, 15:37), the journalist said: “If West Ham were to lose, or even not win against Southampton today, that may well change the minds of a few fans. Yes, this early.
“And you might think it’s too early, but Lopetegui left after half a season. The judgement is passed pretty early at such a football club.”

London Stadium to demand Potter sack if things don’t change
Potter’s start to life at the London Stadium has been underwhelming, and not much has changed in terms of results since Julen Lopetegui’s departure.
The English manager came with a pedigree of being one of the most exciting managers in English football, following his success at Brighton.
While the 49-year-old head coach’s stint at Chelsea wasn’t the best, the London Stadium faithful were excited to see him replace Julen Lopetegui.
West Ham will be wondering what’s gone wrong this season, despite investing heavily in their squad last summer.
Potter’s form in the Premier League at the Hammers has been disappointing as he’s managed to win just three games.
Fans will acknowledge that displays under the Englishman have been better than those seen during Lopetegui’s time at the London Stadium, but that isn’t a particularly high benchmark.
David Sullivan may be forced into making another change at the Irons if fans turn against Potter before the end of the season.
The situation at the East London outfit is one to keep an eye on.
