Michail Antonio is still best attacking option at West Ham United
West Ham United were extremely active in the transfer window where they signed eight first-team players.
One of the areas where the Hammers paid extra attention to strengthening was the attacking front where they signed Gianluca Scamacca from Italian club Sassuolo in a deal worth £35.5 million [Sky Sports].
His arrival was thought to be the beginning of the end of permanent first-team football for someone like Michail Antonio who has led the front line of the Irons for the last couple of seasons.

Impressive
Club football is all about planning for the future and that’s what exactly West Ham have done in the recent past where they have tried to sign players aged 25 or less.
It is often seen that players find it hard to respond when their club make a signing who is at least going to replace them in the long-term future.
However, Antonio has proved all of that wrong by showing extremely impressive performances whenever he has been given the chance to this season.

The 32-year-old has already scored three goals and provided a couple of assists in just 480 minutes in the season which is not bad at all especially considering the fitness issues he faced last season.
He has been more than impressive in pressing from the front as well, something many felt would not be the case with multiple injuries in the last couple of seasons.
Those performances definitely warrant him a first-team spot as of now ahead of someone like Scamacca who is still in the process of finding his feet at his new club.
