Lee Hendrie raves about West Ham forward Said Benrahma v Aston Villa

Lee Hendrie has showered heaps of praise on West Ham forward Said Benrahma for his effort on goal in the first half.

The Hammers have started the game strongly against Aston Villa in the Premier League at the London Stadium on Sunday (13 March), and David Moyes will be delighted with what he has seen so far.

Benrahma returned to the starting line-up in place of Nikola Vlasic, and he has made a strong impact already.

Hendrie said while commentating on the game for the Premier League Tv productions: “Lanzini causing all sorts of problems. Brilliant bit of skill (from Benrahma). Cresswell cash in to Benrahma. He knows he can’t go near him, takes the shot instead.

“Talent. He gets pumped up at times because he is so exciting. Unfortunately, doesn’t get enough strike on the shot.”

In the opening few minutes, Benrahma created a good scoring chance. Aaron Cresswell and Manuel Lanzini were involved in a brilliant exchange of play from the left-hand side, allowing the Algerian to have a go at goal.

Moments later he was involved in another good opportunity which he created all by himself with a brilliant turn, but couldn’t hit the target.

In the absence of Jarrod Bowen, David Moyes has to rely on Benrahma who has been inconsistent with his form this season.

While no doubts his talent, he has been frustrating at times, mainly after coming from international duty.

Moyes took him off in the last match against Sevilla, and he has got a point to prove. So, far it’s been really encouraging.

Michail Antonio has looked sharper today and we hope he gets a goal to his name at the end of the day.

Villa are a well-drilled side under Steven Gerrard, but the Hammers could now capitalise on it after Lucas Digne been taken off.

In other West Ham news, talks are at an advanced stage in the Irons’ bid to sign this shot-stopper from the EFL.
