Karen Carney wowed by Declan Rice in West Ham v Manchester United

Karen Carney was blown away by Declan Rice’s defensive prowess as West Ham lost 2-1 against Manchester United at the London Stadium on Sunday.

Rice, 22, was incredible in the midfield once again for the Hammers despite their unbeaten run coming to an end.

After being impressed by the midfielder during the Euros in the summer, Carney was also delighted with what she saw from him against Man United.

“I watched Declan Rice at the Euros and he was just unbelievable. He has the ability to sniff out danger before it actually happens,” said Carney, as quoted on BBC Sport’s website on Sunday afternoon.

“That is why he is so good, he can clear up any mess or any situation before it happens for West Ham.”

£100million? He’s worth more than that.

You can see why Man United have been so strongly linked with a move to sign Rice.

He and Tomas Soucek have forged an incredible partnership in the middle of the pitch with the two of their strengths combining perfectly with one another.

It was always going to be a tough game against Man United, especially with Michail Antonio suspended and them having the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo in their side.

While Ronaldo was a handful and did score Man United’s goal, Rice was rather comfortable in the midfield and dealt with a lot of things that went his way.

He was also great on the ball, completing basically all of his passes throughout the 90 minutes.

We’re very lucky to have Rice and it’s going to take well over £100million for the club to consider letting him go.

In other West Ham news, Stan Collymore claims the Irons will want to sign this “unbelievable” player who could be on the move in January.
