Jeff Stelling and Neil Mellor predict West Ham United clash v Watford

Jeff Stelling has backed West Ham United to return to winning ways in the Premier League against Watford this evening.

The popular Sky Sports host has predicted that it will finish 1-0 at the London Stadium to David Moyes’ men.

The Irons will be desperate for all three points, having lost their last two league games to Leeds and Manchester United.

Sharing his prediction for Sky Sports’ Super 6, Stelling backed the Irons to leave with all three points in a tight affair.

Sky regular Neil Mellor also predicted a win for the Hammers but went for things to be a little more comfortable at 2-0.

“West Ham have lost their last two Premier League matches and left it late in both normal and extra-time to crush the hearts of the Kidderminster players and fans,” he wrote.

“Declan Rice was the difference and will be key in driving the Hammers on again in this one. They need to return to winning ways if they are to keep their Champions League hopes alive, while Roy Hodgson will taste his first defeat in charge of Watford.”

Needed.

Despite victory at Kidderminster, there were not many positives to take from that FA Cup clash in the end.

The National League North side were brilliant and embarrassed a couple of faces in the Hammers’ dressing room.

Moyes will make changes, that is guaranteed, with some simply not fit to where the shirt directly after that game.

Of course, Declan Rice will come back in the skipper the side and he will be vital to picking up three points once again, but we can’t rely on him too much.

If we want Champions League football next season, these are the games you simply have to win easily, there are no excuses.

It’s time to get back on the wagon.
