Jamie O’Hara tells West Ham what to do during Everton draw in David Moyes verdict

West Ham United should bring back David Moyes having failed to produce enough in the final third against Everton on Saturday, Jamie O’Hara has said.

O’Hara posted on X (9 November) in the 38th minute of the Irons’ 0-0 draw with the Toffees at the London Stadium, by which time Julen Lopetegui’s side had still failed to register a single attempt on goal.

Jarrod Bowen drew a save from Jordan Pickford late in the first half, but other than Crysencio Summerville hitting the post and Danny Ings having two late chances saved, the Hammers were insipid.

O’Hara said: “38 minutes played at West Ham and they haven’t had a shot, bring back (David) Moyes.”

Julen Lopetegui surely on the brink at West Ham United

Hammers supporters could be forgiven for not expecting much from the second half after their side’s display in the opening 45 minutes at the London Stadium, with Bowen’s late effort the only high point.

An aimless performance from back-to-front – with Everton doing little better in the final third despite having more of the ball – will have left some fans thinking of the Disgrace of Gijon back in 1982.

Transitions between different managers are often a tough nut for clubs to crack, but the hopes of Lopetegui bringing an improvement in the style of football have quickly evaporated in East London.

Moyes’ pragmatism achieved results for much of his time in charge – particularly on the continent – but a series of heavy defeats left the writing on the wall for the out-of-contract Scot at the end of the season.

Lopetegui has already been dealt his fair share of sizeable losses, and though a goalless draw likely won’t cost the Spaniard his job, it was arguably the most worrying performance of the season for those in the stands.
