Jamie O’Hara rages at ‘joke’ incident in West Ham United loss v Tottenham

Jamie O’Hara was appalled with Tottenham’s defending for the West Ham United goal Saturday’s (19 October) Premier League contest.

Mohammed Kudus opened the scoring on 18 minutes for the visitors at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Jarrod Bowen found his teammate unmarked at the back post to fire past Guglielmo Vicario.

Dejan Kulusevski equalised in the first half before Yves Bissouma, a Jean-Clair Todibo own goal, and Son Heung-min completed a 4-1 comeback rout for Spurs.

Still, former Spurs player O’Hara made his thoughts known via X [19 October] as he slammed the defending for the Hammers’ goal.

He wrote: “We’re so easy to score against no other team makes it this easy to score it’s a joke.”

Tottenham punish West Ham United

Julen Lopetegui will have to go back to the West Ham drawing board if he is allowed to do so, as his side were embarrassed in the Premier League once again.

The Spaniard took the easy way out in his team selection, opting to name the same lineup from the 4-1 win against Ipswich Town but in the face of superior opposition, all the good work has been undone in North London.

West Ham dominated the opening exchanges leading up to Kudus’ goal but, three second-half goals in eight minutes sealed the result in a game in which Lopetegui needed to return to the London Stadium with points on the board.

His future at the Irons will be under pressure now more than ever. West Ham fans have shown before the lengths they’re willing to go to when the manager is no longer viewed as good enough and the jury may be out on Lopetegui.

Kudus received his marching orders in the dying embers of the match for violent conduct after an altercation with Micky van de Ven – a perfect summary of the overall atmosphere surrounding West Ham.

Had the Hammers not dropped vital points against Fulham and Brentford, this loss would not sting as much as it does, and with Manchester United up next, Lopetegui’s days in East London could well be about to end.

In other West Ham news, Jarrod Bowen wowed Ally McCoist with an “outstanding” moment for the Irons against Tottenham.
