Jamie Carragher predicts scoreline of West Ham United v Ipswich Town game
Jamie Carragher has predicted West Ham to pick up the three points against Ipswich Town on Saturday, 5 October.
The former Liverpool centre-back told Sky Sports’ Super 6 that he expects Julen Lopetegui’s side to keep a clean sheet as well.
Carragher has predicted the game at the London Stadium to end 2-0 in favour of the hosts.
West Ham desperately need the three points v Ipswich Town
The Hammers are in desperate need of a win and playing a newly-promoted side at home may just be the ideal fixture.
Lopetegui has deservedly come under criticism for the club’s slow start to the season as they’re closer to the relegation zone than they are to European places.
Given the financial backing and quality arrivals over the summer, the Irons still do not look to be a cohesive unit on the field of play.
In previous seasons, there was a valid argument to be made for managers not being backed properly by the board but Lopetegui most certainly has.
The onus is now on him to deliver the goods and ensure that the players respond to his tactics or he must be prepared to be ruthless with them.

Hopefully, as Carragher predicted, they can pick up the three points and hopefully, also keep a clean sheet on the way.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to sign a headline-making player who’s set to cost them £80million.
