Fullkrug ‘raging at teammates’ after West Ham United capitulation v Brighton

Niclas Fullkrug and his West Ham United teammates had nowhere to hide as they collapsed against Brighton on Saturday.

The Hammers had fought back from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 in the Premier League clash before throwing it all away in the final few minutes to lose 3-2 at the AMEX Stadium on Saturday (26 April).

Fullkrug launched an expletive-filled outburst after the 1-1 draw with Southampton last week and was dropped for the contest, potentially as a result of that rant.

The ex-Borussia Dortmund man came on at the half-time break but ultimately could not inspire the Irons to victory.

Fullkrug fuming after West Ham throw victory away

Fullkrug hit the headlines last week for his criticism of his teammates and a dig at Graham Potter‘s tactical approach in the contest.

Given the furious nature of his previous rant, it is likely that the German striker will not be happy with the latest result.

Reporter David Richardson said via Sky Sports’ live blog (26 April): “Can we get Fullkrug’s thoughts on that defeat, please? He will be raging.

“How on earth did West Ham throw that away? It sums up their season.”

West Ham need serious reinforcements

Potter is set to launch a revamp of the squad at the London Stadium in the summer as the current team has struggled to kick on under his leadership.

The Hammers have won just three of their 15 matches under the new manager and are winless in their last seven games.

The German international was not wrong when he questioned the mentality in the squad, it is weak and that was evident from the way that they crumbled against the Seagulls.

Up to nine players could be set to leave Rush Green in the transfer window as the former Brighton boss reshapes the team that he inherited from Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten.

The likes of Mohamed Kudus, Edson Alvarez and Konstantinos Mavropanos could be among those to depart when the campaign concludes.

It promises to be a busy summer, which is exciting as there is a possibility that the East London club could drastically improve their squad.

However, there is also the chance that they sign the wrong players and make the team even worse, like the last summer window, which would infuriate Fullkrug even more, if he is still around.
