Fornals dropped – West Ham confirmed starting line-up v Tottenham

West Ham have selected a very strong side to face Tottenham in the Premier League, with David Moyes making two changes.

After securing a passage in the last eight of the Europa League, the attention turns to the domestic league, where a top-four battle is heating up.

Alphonse Areola, who was superb during the 2-0 victory against Sevilla, has made way for number one goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

Attacking midfielder Pablo Fornals, who was also superb against Sevilla, has been dropped to the bench, while Arthur Masukau has been picked in the starting XI.

Top-four race

This is a massive game in the race for the top-four.

The Hammers will be pretty confident heading into this tie after picking up back-to-back wins.

David Moyes’ side won 2-1 against Aston Villa in the league, and it was followed by another 2-0 win against Sevilla in the Europa League.

However, the Hammers need to improve their form away from home.

They lost their last three games away from the London Stadium in all competitions, and they have got a chance to amend that record.

To be fair, West Ham were superb in their 1-0 defeat against Liverpool where they were without Declan Rice, and even lost Jarrod Bowen through injury.

The Hammers are level on points with Spurs, having played a game more. Arsenal are six points above them having played a game less, and they are currently occupying the fourth spot.

It would be a tough game, but the Hammers should be ready for it.

In other West Ham news, the Irons want to sign this “incredible” defender with his price-tag set to be slashed by 65 per cent.
