Emerson injury update emerges for West Ham United v Chelsea clash
Emerson Palmieri was absent from first-team training ahead of the West Ham v Chelsea clash, according to Hammers News.
The news outlet reported on 18 September that the Italian is a doubt to take on his former side on 21 September at the London Stadium.
The 30-year-old injured his knee against Fulham and does not appear to have recovered from that completely.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka to play at left-back for West Ham v Chelsea?
Aaron Wan-Bissaka deputised for the Italian at left-back and is expected to do the same against Chelsea.
It’ll be an interesting battle to see Cole Palmer up against him as the former Manchester United full-back is known for his 1v1 defending skills while the Chelsea attacker has quickly become one of the best wide attackers in Europe.
Julen Lopetegui will not be pleased with his lack of options at left-back but this is a chance for him to showcase his tactical nous.
Chelsea have started the season on a shaky note and they could be there for the taking at the London Stadium.
A quick start for the Hammers could see them heap pressure on the visitors and it would undoubtedly play into the hands of Lopetegui and his side.

It remains to be seen how this one transpires but there’s no reason for the hosts to believe they can’t get something out of this one.
