David Moyes: Vladimir Coufal doubt for Rapid Wien game

David Moyes has confirmed that Vladimir Coufal may not be available for West Ham against Rapid Wien on Thursday night.

He also ruled right-back Ryan Fredericks who was injured against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup win over Manchester United.

Speaking ahead of the Europa League clash, he said, per the club’s official website, “Ryan is not available [for Thursday] from his injury. We’ve got a bit of a doubt with Vladimír Coufal as well, but apart from that, we’re hoping that most people are available and fit.”

Double blow

The Hammers were prepared to miss Fredericks as he was all but expected to miss this game.

His injury against Man United did not look too good, but thankfully, his recovery seems to be going well.

However, the Coufal update is what will have shocked fans as he is one of their most important players.

While it would have been wise to rest him for the Rapid Wien clash, him being an injury doubt is concerning.

West Ham

Hopefully, the club do not ask him to play when he’s not a hundred percent as he will only aggravate whatever injury he’s got.

The Hammers are capable enough of winning this game in his absence and Ben Johnson could fill in to replace him.
