David Moyes: Tomas Soucek injury not looking too bad
West Ham boss David Moyes claims that Tomas Soucek’s injury is not looking too bad.
The Czech midfielder sustained a facial injury against Everton on Sunday afternoon, which led to Moyes stating that he was worried, but it does not seem too serious.
However, he did suffer a cut to his cheek and nose, and it remains to be seen whether or not he’ll be fine for the Europa League clash against Genk on Thursday.

Moyes said, per Football London, “He’s actually split his lip which is getting stitched and there is a cut down his cheek and nose. I think the stitches going into his lip would be the bit that worries me.
“I think the others are grazes and he is going to have a really bad looking face for a few days but overall I do not think it is looking too bad.”
Hope he’s fine
Soucek may not have started the season well, but he still is one of the club’s most important players and Moyes would not want him out of action.
However, given the severity of his injury and him requiring stitches, there’s a good chance that the club won’t risk him for the Genk game in a few days.

West Ham are in control of the group with two wins from two and are in pole position to secure qualification to the Round of 32.
That said, his performance against Everton had glimpses of the Soucek of last season and that was refreshing.
It’s a sign that he’s getting back to his old self and this injury was the last thing he would’ve wanted.
Hopefully, it’s nothing more than a bad looking face as Moyes described it, and that he’s back in action next weekend against Spurs.
