Danny Ings missing as Jean-Clair Todibo call made – West Ham United confirmed XI v Bournemouth

West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui has made eight changes to his Hammers’ starting XI for the clash with Bournemouth on Wednesday 28 August.

The Irons boss has rotated his side for the Carabao Cup clash with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville all coming into the side for their full debuts in a Hammers shirt.

Edson Alvarez will make his first start since picking up an injury during the Copa America as the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio all drop to the substitutes bench.

Lukasz Fabianski replaces Alphonse Areola between the posts and there is no place in the squad for Danny Ings, with Jarrod Bowen, Max Kilman and Tomas Soucek the only players to keep their place.

Are West Ham close to any new signings ahead of the transfer deadline?

Lopetegui’s side for tonight’s clash shows just how much depth the Hammers now have in their ranks after their busy summer of spending under the former Real Madrid manager.

David Moyes’ ability to rest and rotate his squad last term was incredibly limited, particularly after the January transfer window, as he only had a handful of players to pick from in both the Premier League and Europa League.

With the pressure being off a little bit in the Carabao Cup, the Irons boss can afford to hand players their first starts in claret and blue. While every fan wants to see their club win silverware, this competition isn’t the most prestigious.

Hopefully, West Ham will manage to book their place in the next round with some entertaining football without picking up any new injuries heading into the final game before the September international break.

Anything more than that will be a bonus for the supporters who have headed to the London Stadium to watch the all-Premier League clash.
