West Ham United confirmed XI v Crystal Palace: Jarrod Bowen call made, rare start handed out
West Ham boss David Moyes has named his starting line-up for Sunday’s (21 April) Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.
The Irons are looking for a response at Selhurst Park following Thursday’s (18 April) Europa League exit at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen.
Moyes has made three changes from that European contest, as confirmed by the club’s official X account [21 April].
Lucas Paqueta and Emerson return from suspension, while Angelo Ogbonna is also recalled to the XI in place of the injured Nayef Aguerd.
Jarrod Bowen is not included in the matchday squad in a big blow for Moyes, with Aaron Cresswell the other player to make way.
Jarrod Bowen misses out for West Ham
Bowen’s return against Leverkusen was a massive boost, but he is clearly not over his injury problem just yet.
The England international was not included in the matchday squad at all, so he clearly went above and beyond to be ready for that midweek cup tie.
Paqueta is at least back and will join Mohammed Kudus and Michail Antonio in the final third against Palace.
Aguerd’s injury gives Ogbonna a chance to impress on just his fourth Premier League start of the campaign.
Even without Bowen, this West Ham XI is still good enough to come away from Selhurst Park with all three points.
All focus is on the Premier League now after exiting the Europa League, and fingers crossed for a win that keeps the club’s top-six hopes alive.
