Crysencio Summerville only bright spark as 3/10 abysmal – West Ham player ratings vs Brentford

West Ham fell to a 2-0 defeat to Brentford after a dismal display on Monday evening.

Nuno Espirito Santo made five changes to his West Ham team that were defeated 2-0 by Arsenal before the international break.

However, his changes did not work as the Hammers were beaten comfortably at the London Stadium on 20 October.

West Ham’s miserable record against Brentford continued, as Keith Andrews’ side left East London with all three points.

Kyle Walker-Peters has a nightmare on horror evening for West Ham

Kyle Walker-Peters started a left-back in a defence which had three changes, with Ollie Scarles and Jean-Clair Todibo also drafted in.

It was an unfamiliar position for the 28-year-old, and that was evident in his display, which saw him replaced by Aaron Wan-Bissaka at half-time.

The former Tottenham ace completed 10 of the 12 passes that he attempted, and he tried just two long balls, only completing one, for a 50 per cent success rate, per Sofascore.

Defensively, he lost the only ground duel that he attempted and made just one recovery in a miserable showing.

He did win two of the three aerial duels that he attempted for a 67 per cent success rate, but it was telling that he was one of the first names to be dragged off.

Crysencio Summerville was a rare bright spark for West Ham vs Brentford

Crysencio Summerville was a rare spark for the Hammers on a grim night, and he was the only one who looked like making anything happen.

His pace and trickery was a handful for the Bees at times, and while he could not make a difference with a goal contribution, he came close.

He had a threatening solo run in the first half before setting up Bowen for a glorious chance in the 70th minute.

He completed one key pass, and made 12 passes in the opposition half out of a potential 18, as he tried desperately to create something for the Irons.

The ex-Leeds United ace even made three recoveries and won five of the nine ground duels that he attempted in a solid defensive display.
