Confirmed West Ham starting XI v West Brom

West Ham have made one change to their starting XI for the Premier League clash against West Brom on Wednesday night.

David Moyes has decided to promote Said Benrahma from bench duties after his crucial late goal against Brighton last Saturday earned his side a point in a 1-1 draw.

Confirmed on their official Twitter account prior to kick-off, the Irons have dropped Jarrod Bowen for the crunch fixture at The Hawthorns.

There were some worrying injury rumours circulating online earlier in the day regarding talismanic midfielder Declan Rice, but Irons insider ExWHUemployee shot them down on Twitter and said that he would be in the squad.

Benrahma comes in for only his third start since March 21.

Go for it

We need three points here and quite frankly, nothing else will suffice.

There is plenty of attacking talent in this team and now we need to utilise that and throw the proverbial kitchen sink at the Baggies tonight.

Three shots on target last time out against Brighton just wasn’t good enough – you can’t expect to guarantee victory when you threaten their goal on just three occasions.

That doesn’t mean we go completely gung-ho at the start but we do need to be packing the box which we expect to be firmly stacked with West Brom defenders, given Big Sam’s propensity to focus on his backline and ensure they remain a solid outfit.

They do, however, possess some threat going forwards with Brazilian playmaker Matheus Pereira always an effective source of goals and creativity.

It’s a difficult act to balance but we must not come away from tonight’s games with any regrets – we need to pile on the pressure and make it count to clinch a spot in next season’s Europa League.
