Clinton Morrison shreds Lucas Paqueta over ‘ridiculous’ incident vs Liverpool – ‘He’s let his teammates down’
Lucas Paqueta was sent off in West Ham’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday at the London Stadium.
While West Ham were expected to lose against Liverpool, going into the last 10 minutes, they had a chance to nick a point, with the hosts only 1-0 down.
However, this chance was essentially ended in the 84th minute when Paqueta was sent off at the London Stadium for two quick yellow cards for dissent.
As a result, the Brazilian has been slammed by multiple pundits, and Clinton Morrison did not hold back in his assessment of the incident.

Clinton Morrison: Even Alisson told Lucas Paqueta to stop
Paqueta has long had an issue with discipline at West Ham and was recently suspended due to reaching five yellow cards this Premier League campaign.
Now, he is set to be out of action yet again after his preventable sending off against Liverpool.
After Darren England deemed Niclas Fullkrug to have fouled foul on Dominik Szoboszlai, Paqueta made his way over to the referee to argue against the decision.
- Paqueta had previously been suspended for picking up five Premier League yellow cards
- He made his return into the starting XI against Liverpool
- However, he is now set to be suspended again
Yet, despite being booked for his actions, the Brazilian did not walk away, which resulted in England showing him a quick second yellow card and a resulting red.
Watching on BBC Radio 5 Live on 30 November, Morrison was far from impressed with Paqueta’s actions.
He said: “I don’t know what he’s doing. “If you’re not happy with the decision, he’s not going to change his mind.
“It’s ridiculous behaviour” ❌

“Darren England hasn’t had the best game but Paqueta wouldn’t give it up, he kept going and going, even his international teammate Alisson said stop.
“You can’t keep going over and goading the referee. You’ve let your team down. It’s ridiculous.”
Which games will Paqueta miss for West Ham?
Going forward, the midfielder is guaranteed to miss the Manchester United clash on Thursday, with the midfielder now set to serve a one-match ban.
However, Paqueta is also at risk of an extended suspension at West Ham due to him sarcastically clapping the referee after his red card.
Therefore, Nuno Espirito Santo could now be without one of his key players for some highly important games going into the festive period.
For an incident that was highly preventable, fans will no doubt be fuming about the decision.
