Arsenal vs West Ham postponement latest as Met Office extends Storm Amy warning

West Ham take on Arsenal on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium as Nuno Espirito Santo takes charge of his second game.

West Ham drew 1-1 with Everton in the Portuguese’s first game in charge, but will face a really tough test away from home against a title contender.

Nuno has instilled belief into his West Ham side ahead of the game, but they know they will be up against it facing the Gunners.

West Ham may make some changes to their team, with Nuno getting a good read of where his squad stands early in his reign.

However, ahead of the game, a Met Office weather warning has been put in place, which will now affect Saturday’s clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Yellow weather warning now in place for the South East

West Ham travel to North London looking to pull off a shock result, but will have to face brutal conditions as Storm Amy hits the UK.

The Met Office have placed a Yellow warning for the South East of England, where strong gusts of wind will affect London and the surrounding areas.

West to southwesterly winds will strengthen and become gusty on Saturday, with gusts of 45-55 mph possible in place.

With the West Ham vs Arsenal game kicking off at 3 pm, they will be right in the middle of this warning, so expect it to impact the game.

There is no immediate danger of the game being called off, but that could be at risk if the weather worsens before the game.

Fans going to the game should give themselves plenty of time to travel to the Emirates Stadium, with disruptions to public transport increased.

Nuno needs to fix West Ham’s set-piece problem

West Ham brought in Nuno in place of Graham Potter to turn around their dismal start to the season.

West Ham conceded from another set-piece against Everton, which has been a theme of their season.

Arsenal rely heavily on set-pieces to score themselves, so Nuno must prepare his side to deal with the threat they pose.

West Ham need to become better at defending these scenarios if they stand any chance of causing an upset on Saturday.

If Nuno can help shore up the backline, the Hammers’ forwards can cause Arsenal trouble with their pace and directness and maybe help snatch a result.
