Andy Gray loves what he saw Mohammed Kudus do in West Ham United win v Ipswich Town

Andy Gray was impressed with Mohammed Kudus after he scored a header for West Ham against Ipswich Town on Saturday (5 October).

The Hammers secured all three points against the newly-promoted side as Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta helped to earn a 4-1 win.

The Ghana international put the home side ahead for the second time at the London Stadium as he rose highest to nod past Arijanet Muric – a moment which made Gray happy while live on beIN Sports 1 (5 October, 3:52pm).

He said: “The header doesn’t cross the line, but watch Kudus jump for it – brilliant. He almost hangs in the air for it and then nods it in. Good lad.”

Mohammed Kudus impresses for West Ham v Ipswich Town

It was only a week ago that unrest was being discussed in East London after the former Ajax star was hooked at half time by Julen Lopetegui against Brentford.

After drawing that game, questions were asked of the Spaniard as to why he would take off one of his best players in a game his side wasn’t winning.

The decision was bizarre but it appears that there were no problems in the camp at the London Stadium as the forward kept his place in the starting XI against the Tractor Boys.

This move paid off as Kudus scored a goal just before the interval to restore the home side’s advantage after Antonio’s early strike.

The 24-year-old showed his quality and why he has to be in the starting XI alongside the likes of Bowen and Paqueta.

It was a positive day for the Hammers on a day where Lopetegui really needed a result after an up-and-down start to his spell in charge.

In other West Ham news, a Luis Guilherme stance has been revealed amid a bonus-heavy Tim Steidten deal.
