Andy Gray says West Ham manager David Moyes will be furious that the first-half goal scored by Fulham was allowed to stand.

Andreas Pereira fired Fulham into a ninth-minute lead in Sunday's (14 April) Premier League clash at London Stadium, which finished 2-0 to the visitors.

The goal came as a result of a poor piece of defending from Konstantinos Mavropanos, who miscued a clearance and allowed Pereira to pounce.

However, when reacting to footage of the goal on beIN SPORTS [14 April], Gray pointed out a foul on Lucas Paqueta in the build-up.

"Moyes will certainly be thinking that's a free-kick, knowing David," Gray said.

Co-host Richard Keys then responded: "It wasn't, though, was it?"

Moyes will have every right to be annoyed that the referee did not pull play back for a foul on Paqueta high up the field.

However, at the same time, it was a simple enough ball for Mavropanos to deal with and West Ham only have themselves to blame.

It was a shocking piece of defending and gave London rivals Fulham a foothold on the game that they managed to take full advantage of.

VAR is in place for incidents exactly like this, though, and you feel the referee should have at least been told to ponder his decision.

It could also be argued, however, that Paqueta simply should have been stronger and not gone to ground so easily.

Either way, it was a big moment in the match and one that Moyes will likely point to when speaking post-match on a disappointing day for United.
