Julen Lopetegui doesn't think Jean-Clair Todibo is tough enough for the Premier League after signing for West Ham, according to Hammers News.

The online outlet revealed on 22 September that a West Ham insider believes that the Hammers "are poor and need to improve".

Supporters have demanded that the Frenchman should start in the Irons' defence but it has been shared that Lopetegui "thinks Todino is not tough enough for the Premier League".

The insider has also suggested that Todibo "deserves games" after being an unused substitute in the 3-0 home defeat against Chelsea.

The Irons signed the former Barcelona defender with plenty of fanfare but that hasn't transpired on to the pitch at the start of the season.

This feels like a lot of time an effort spent on a signing who Lopetegui doesn't appear to have any faith in, which is quite bizarre.

Konstantinos Mavropanos has started the season alongside Max Kilman as the Hammers have had a generally poor start to the campaign.

There is no reason why the 24-year-old can not be a success at the London Stadium given the pedigree he has shown in recent years.

Todibo was top-class for OGC Nice and there is clearly a good player there so it is strange to see that the Irons' boss doesn't have trust in him to start.
