West Ham ace Lucas Paqueta posted a two-word message on social media while watching Brazil take on Colombia in World Cup qualifying.

The 26-year-old earned the most recent of 42 senior caps for his country in June this year when scoring in a friendly against Senegal.

However, he was withdrawn from Brazil's squad for their September fixtures after being embroiled in a betting scandal and has not featured since.

Paqueta posted a message on his personal Instagram account shortly after the Selecao took the lead in a game they went on to lose 2-1.

"Bora Brasil," he said, accompanied by a Brazil flag, in a message that translates as "Come on Brazil".

Frustration

Paqueta is having to watch on from the outside as Brazil go about - with quite the struggle, it seems - their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Speaking in August, Brazil interim head coach Fernando Diniz said he axed Paqueta from his side so that he can "sort out these issues".

The versatile midfielder strongly denies allegations that he breached FA and FIFA betting rules, which reportedly relates to getting booked in certain games [Sky News].

West Ham

This is an awkward situation, but it does seem strange that Paqueta is not being selected by Brazil on the face of it.

After all, he is still regularly picked by West Ham while we await news on when the full investigation will take place.

The investigation also put paid to Paqueta's chances of joining Manchester City in the summer, so it has already had huge ramifications.

No doubt frustrated to be watching events unfold from 6,000 miles away, let's hope Paqueta takes his frustration out when West Ham return to action against Burnley on 25 November.
