Kamarai Swyer will hope to be edging closer to a senior West Ham call-up for the first time since November 2022.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder was handed his debut by David Moyes during the Hammers' 3-0 win over Romanian outfit FCSB in the Europa Conference League, coming on for the final 13 minutes.

However, he has not entered the pitch as part of the senior team since that moment, continuing to develop with the Under-21s at the London Stadium.

Despite this, Julen Lopetegui will need to keep an eye on the exciting forward, who scored a "wonderful" goal during a 1-0 win over Newcastle United on Friday 20 September [Official website].

While the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus leave little room for more attacking talent in the squad, the new manager will struggle to ignore this talented gem.

Kamarai Swyer impresses in West Ham United U21s v Newcastle United

The 21-year-old has notched 16 goals and 10 assists in 78 appearances for the U21s and is fully deserving of a proper chance in the first team.

Fans at the London Stadium are not used to seeing academy prospects brought through to the first team, which is exactly why Divin Mubama has ended up at Manchester City after not signing a new deal.

Of course, the new updates surrounding Ollie Scarles' four-year deal with the Hammers will bring a great deal of joy to the passionate fans [ExWHUEmployee], and a call-up for Swyer would be even better.

Following the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday 21 September, fans need something positive to hold onto, and bringing the next generation of players through can be a focus at the London Stadium.
