West Ham have been handed a huge boost in their quest to sign Aston Villa star Jhon Duran this month.

Just days into his tenure in East London, Graham Potter has been handed an injury crisis in the final third, with Niclas Fullkrug joining Jarrod Bowen in the treatment room.

The German is set to be sidelined for three months [Jack Rosser], so with Michail Antonio recovering from a serious car crash and Danny Ings nowhere to be seen, the Hammers are desperate for a new signing.

Aston Villa's Jhon Duran was a hot topic at the London Stadium last summer, having numerous bids rejected for the in-form striker, and now it is understood another offer has been rejected recently.

According to Graeme Bailey, Potter's side have seen a £30million bid rejected in recent days, with the Villans holding out for much closer to £60million.

West Ham must try again for Jhon Duran transfer

The Colombian was clearly keen on a move to the London Stadium just six months ago after being spotted making a Hammers gesture on an Instagram live [The Mirror].

With Unai Emery's side now closing in on a deal for Borussia Dortmund's Donyell Malen and an agreement reached between the two sides [Florian Plettenberg], this could force Duran to seek an exit.

The 21-year-old is already battling to keep his spot in the Villa starting XI, with Ollie Watkins understandably the first-choice striker, and he is well-known for his impatience.

Boasting 12 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions this season, Duran would be an incredible addition to the Hammers squad, but they must act quickly.

Paris Saint-Germain have joined the race for the Colombian's signature, as per the Mail on Sunday, so it is imperative that Potter strikes now and adds much-needed depth to the squad before it is too late.
