West Ham are looking to make some serious upgrades to their squad before the new Premier League season begins.

The Hammers were underwhelming for most of last season, and it's widely believed that several new signings will be needed to prevent that from happening again.

West Ham are desperate to allow their women's team to play more games at the London Stadium, but they are unable to agree on a fee with the stadium's owners to allow it to happen.

However, the club are not giving up on their negotiations yet.

The club has released a statement saying: “Securing another women’s game at the London Stadium is a key priority for West Ham United.”

Kyle Walker-Peters is officially a Hammer.

The former Southampton defender passed his West Ham medical and became the newest member of Graham Potter's squad with an official announcement made on Sunday (20 July).

Walker-Peters looked destined to sign for Besiktas, but the transfer collapsed at the last minute after the Turkish club revoked their offer when the defender asked for more time to make a decision.

However, their loss has become West Ham's gain. Walker-Peters arrives on a free transfer as his Southampton contract had been allowed to expire.

West Ham have reportedly bid for Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz, as Potter looks to inject some flair into his squad.

Luiz is valued at around £34million, which is significantly less than what Juventus paid for him last summer.

He's believed to be open to a move to England, but that doesn't mean a move to the London Stadium is a sure thing. Everton are also believed to have bid for him.

Potter is believed to be a huge admirer of Manchester City star James McAtee.

McAtee enjoyed a breakthrough season with the Cityzens last season, scoring seven goals in 27 appearances.

He's looking for a regular starting place, though, and City seem willing to sell for the right place. They have put a £35m price tag on him.

Now, it's up to Potter to decide if he's worth the money.
