West Ham have reportedly made contact with Sparta Prague to sign their striker Adam Hlozek in the January transfer window.

According to Give Me Sport journalist Terry Flewers, the Hammers have initiated an approach to sign the 19-year-old.

The Hammers have been looking for a striker since the summer and are keen on getting one over the line when the window opens next month.

Via his personal Twitter account, he wrote, "West Ham United have made an approach to sign 19-year-old Sparta Prague striker Adam Hlozek."

Let's go

Hlozek, at the age of 19, is already a full Czech Republic international, which is impressive, given the talents in that nation.

The fact that Tomas Soucek, Vladimir Coufal and Alex Kral are also at the club might make it easier for him to settle in the dressing room.

Hammers stakeholder Daniel Kretinsky also has links to Sparta Prague so he could facilitate the move and ensure the 19-year-old comes to the London Stadium in January.

While Michail Antonio has been terrific, he is on the wrong side of 30 and would eventually need replacing.

Hlozek, who has been labelled "terrific" by Total Football Analysis, will possibly spend a season on the bench before he's ready to start week in and week out.

That should not be a problem, given how young he is and it takes time to adapt to the Premier League as well.
