Jonathan Rowe turned down a potential move to Lazio because he would prefer to play in the Premier League amid interest from West Ham United, according to La Lazio Siamo Noi.

The Italian outlet reported on its website on Monday (29 January) that the Norwich City winger doesn't want to move to Italy and would instead like to make the move to England's top flight, either this month or at the end of the season.

David Moyes' side are interested in the 20-year-old alongside, Brighton, Aston Villa and Everton and because of the number of Premier League teams monitoring his current situation, the Canaries winger opted to not make the switch to Rome.

The race is on

It seems that everything is currently lined up to ensure that West Ham United win the race to sign Rowe this month. The winger wants a move to the Premier League and Moyes is in desperate need of at least one new wide option at the London Stadium.

While they face a number of other Premier League clubs in the hunt to secure his signature, the Hammers have the financial capability to beat both Villa and Everton at the moment and could guarantee more consistent game time than Brighton.

West Ham

Rowe has been in remarkable form for Norwich under the management of David Wagner and appears as though he would be more than capable of making the step up to England's top flight, whether that be in the final stages of the January transfer window or come the end of the season.

The Hammers should just be encouraged that they have an excellent chance of signing the Championship gem, especially now that he has made it clear that he wishes to play in the Premier League rather than make the switch to Europe.
