West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen surely still can't believe he's not going to the World Cup.

The 29-year-old captained his Hammers side to relegation, but still put up some positive numbers

To provide 23 goal involvements for a side that is now in the Championship is no mean feat.

That left him joint fifth in the Premier League for total goals and assists, only sitting behind Antoine Semenyo, Igor Thiago, Bruno Fernandes and Erling Haaland.

It doesn't appear that was enough to impress Thomas Tuchel as he left the Irons skipper out of his World Cup squad.

Noni Madueke was given the nod ahead of Bowen, but surely now there has to be some regret about that decision.

Noni Madueke adds fuel to fire for Jarrod Bowen

It is a constant source of frustration to many in East London that the forward has never been given a true chance on the international stage.

His 22 caps for the Three Lions have largely come in a bit-part role, with only two of those coming at a tournament.

That isn't going to change any time soon after he was left out of the squad for the World Cup in North America.

Arsenal man Madueke was given the nod ahead of the Hammers man despite a largely poor first season at the Emirates.

He contributed to just four goals in the Premier League and continued that poor form into the final friendly ahead of the tournament.

The 24-year-old started against Costa Rica on Wednesday night and featured across 64 minutes, with his most memorable moment coming when he missed an open goal.

Madueke was played in on goal by Jude Bellingham, he rounded goalkeeper Patrick Sequeira and had the whole goal to aim at, but he hit the post.

The ball bounced off the upright, back off the Gunners man and out for a goal kick, something which Bowen is surely watching in utter disbelief.

West Ham star Bowen anger amplified after being snubbed for Madueke

It appears that Tuchel has taken a liking to the former Chelsea man as part of his Three Lions squad.

That is the only logic for bringing him in for the World Cup after such a poor campaign despite featuring for the Premier League champions.

Madueke summed that up with his open goal miss against Costa Rica, something which you almost definitely wouldn't see from Bowen.

The London Stadium ace will almost certainly be watching England and seeing something like that will leave him in utter disbelief.

He will be ripping his hair out and seriously questioning what he has to do to land a place in the England squad.
