West Ham fans given 'incredible' message amid 'crazy, mental' scenes Alan Brazil expects before Millwall

West Ham United are gearing up the mouth-watering derby with Millwall on Saturday (19 September).

The Hammers have not faced off with fierce London rivals since February 2012, when they ran out 2-1 victors.

Despite losing 3-2 to Fulham in the Carabao Cup, the Hammers can take plenty of confidence into this fixture.

Four straight Championship victories have taken Nuno Espirito Santo's men to the top of the table ahead of the trip to enemy territory.

Another victory over Alex Neil's men would be hugely welcome ahead of an extended international break.

West Ham given warning by Millwall captain

Lions skipper Jake Cooper was on talkSPORT on Thursday to discuss the upcoming clash.

Brazil and co-host Gabby Agbonlahor were talking up the atmosphere, and what Cooper and his team-mates can expect against West Ham.

With so much time having lapsed since their last encounter, it promises to be a lively atmosphere before and after at the Den.

Brazil alluded to that fact, when he was speaking to Cooper about his memories of facing Millwall as a player.

He said on talkSPORT: "London bridge canary wharf will be mental, crazy, it'll be packed."

Brazil then turned attention to the Millwall crowd, and Cooper spoke about the atmosphere he expects.

"I think it will be interesting at their ground, how close the fans can be to impact the game," he said.

"At our place, at the Den, I certainly think our fans will be incredible, and you know they'll feel like 40,000 in there instead of 20,000. It'll be some atmosphere for sure."

West Ham can have no fear

This might be the first taste Nuno has had of this derby, but he must stress the importance to his team.

West Ham fans will have no fear, they will be absolutely bang up for this, and they would love nothing more than to get one over their rivals.

But that passion, that intensity, that win-at-all-costs mentality simply has to be matched on the pitch.

It was 14 years since the last meeting between the teams, but there is absolutely no love lost in that time that's for sure.

It's game time, everyone must be absolutely on their game and be prepared for the hostility that's coming.
