West Ham eye summer swoop for Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson
West Ham are reportedly keeping tabs on Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson over a potential summer move.
According to ExWHUemployee, the Hammers could make an offer for him if they still are keen on pursuing him once the transfer window opens.
He claims that are other clubs also keen on securing the 20-year-old Wales international's services, which could mean it would be a challenge to sign him.
Speaking on the West Ham Way Podcast, he said, "Other players that we are keeping tabs on are potential summer offers. One of them is Brennan Johnson. He plays for Nottingham Forest. I think he's a winger, very highly rated and very impressive. There are a number of clubs looking at him."
Worth it?
The Hammers have not minded dipping into the pool of resources in the lower leagues.
They signed Jarrod Bowen from Hull City and did the same with Said Benrahma from Brentford.
While the former has been a terrific addition, the jury is still out on the latter as he's still proving himself at the London Stadium.
With Michail Antonio ageing and Manuel Lanzini likely to leave in the next window, the club do need to plan for the future.
