West Ham could turn to their youngsters and hand defender Harrison Ashby a chance against Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday.

According to Claret and Hugh, the 20-year-old is in line to start the game at right-back, in a team that could comprise of Jamal Baptiste and Sonny Perkins as well.

The defender has been on the books at the club since the age of nine, before which he was at rivals Chelsea.

Play them all

West Ham have won their Europa League group so this game has little to no significance for David Moyes.

Given the number of injuries he's seen his side facing, he would be better off playing some of his fringe players.

Due to the competition for places, a number of players must be unhappy with the lack of playing time and this could be ideal to give them what they want.

Youngsters like Ashby, who's been labelled "excellent" in the aforementioned Claret and Hugh report, also would benefit from the experience of playing in a European game.

He's made his senior debut already, but is yet to start a game so this could be his full debut should Moyes name him in his eleven.

With Ben Johnson out injured and Vladimir Coufal needing some rest, it makes sense for the manager to start the 20-year-old for this game.
