Callum Marshall has officially returned to West Ham United after the expiry of his loan deal, West Brom have confirmed.

The Baggies announced their retained list via their official website (22 May) outlining which players will remain at The Hawthorns ahead of next season.

Marshall is confirmed to be returning to the London Stadium after being sent on loan to the Championship in January.

On 9 April, Albion confirmed Marshall would return to West Ham to continue his development there throughout the rest of the season. However, he would have been available for Carlos Corberan had he decided to use him.

Should West Ham keep Callum Marshall?

The forward made the move and went on to make just three appearances for the Baggies in the Championship [FotMob].

He failed to get a goal or an assist but was only afforded 55 minutes of game time by Carlos Corberan.

Upon the expiration of his contract, he has returned to West Ham's academy side and he has scored two goals in four appearances in that time.

With a new manager coming in to replace David Moyes, most likely to be Julen Lopetegui, Marshall may be given a chance.

West Ham

It must be said that the Northern Ireland international didn't show much of his ability off while at West Brom.

Another loan spell to the Championship or below could prove to be beneficial to his development moving forward.

Returning to the Midlands to play again under Corberan could be useful as he will need less time to bed in to get more chance of regular minutes.
