Troy Deeney has hailed flying right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka for his West Ham display against Southampton on Thursday.

The 27-year-old was part of a water-tight backline that kept a clean sheet at St Mary's Stadium on Boxing Day [26 December], with Jarrod Bowen scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win.

Wan-Bissaka has been an incredible addition to the Hammers' squad since his £15million move from Manchester United in the summer [BBC Sport], once again proving his worth.

Also writing about Brighton's Pervis Estupinan via BBC Sport [28 December], Deeney said: "Both full-backs were solid and kept clean sheets.

"The pair were also probably one of the best attacking threats for their teams."

Aaron Wan-Bissaka earning high praise at West Ham United

While Tim Steidten has been criticised quite a lot by the frustrated fanbase lately, he certainly deserves to be commended for the acquisition of Wan-Bissaka during the summer.

The right-back already has two goals to his name and has increased his attacking output, proving that he can indeed make an impact in the final third when asked of him.

Of course, he is more well-known for his spider-like tackling in the Premier League, but once his legs get going down the flanks, it is rare that the opposition can stop him.

Though he was not involved in the goals at St Mary's Stadium, FotMob awarded the defender with the Man of the Match award, having won 100 per cent of his tackles (3/3) and 100 per cent of his ground duels (7/7).

He also completed 100 per cent of his dribbles while creating three chances for his teammates, so it is really no surprise to see him given his flowers after yet another brilliant display.

Wan-Bissaka is surely edging ahead as one of the signings of the season, not just in East London, but in the entire Premier League too.
