Supercomputer predicts result of West Ham clash vs Bolton Wanderers

West Ham United finally have some momentum behind them as they prepare to take on Bolton Wanderers.

The grind of the Championship season is now in full swing as the Hammers play their fourth game in 10 days.

After starting that run with a 1-1 draw at Watford, Nuno Espirito Santo's side have since defeated Wolves 4-2 and Derby County 3-0.

Back-to-back wins for the first time this season is a massive boost for Nuno after a slow start to the campaign.

The Irons are still only in eighth place, albeit now just two points off the automatic promotion zone.

Three more points will be the aim when United make the trip to the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Tuesday night.

What has supercomputer predicted for Bolton vs West Ham?

Bolton have taken just four points from their first five matches and are 21st in the Championship.

Wanderers' only win so far came on the opening weekend against Preston North End.

Since then they have drawn with Queens Park Rangers, before losing three in a row against Lincoln City, Sheffield United and Millwall.

That 4-0 loss to Millwall last time out also saw Josh Sheehan sent off, so he will be absent for the West Ham clash.

Given the form of both sides, it is perhaps little wonder Opta's supercomputer has given West Ham a 56.2 per cent chance of winning.

Bolton are given a 20.4 per cent likelihood of taking all three points, while a draw stands at 23.4 per cent.

West Ham's dreadful record away at Bolton

This will be the first meeting between Bolton and West Ham since September 2017, when Angelo Ogbonna, Diafra Sakho and Arthur Masuaku were on the scoresheet in a 3-0 EFL Cup win.

That contest was played at the London Stadium, while the most recent encounter in Bolton came in April 2011.

West Ham lost that Premier League clash 3-0, with Daniel Sturridge scoring two of the goals.

The Irons went down that season, while it was Bolton's turn to go down the season after - to never return as of now.

The bad news for West Ham is that they have lost their past seven away trips to Bolton, but it is fair to say a lot has changed since the most recent of those meetings.
